Build Yourself Up
Have you ever
marveled at how quickly businesses and homes can be built today? If you have
the right weather and a good crew, you can have a home built in 6 months!
That's pretty quick timing. I do notice that the crew does not take a few
months off because they are tired or just don't "feel" like building
the home. I would say their paychecks are what is motivating them to continue
building homes. They keep working until the job is done and if there are any
mistakes, they correct them and move on. Just as a carpenter would work on a
home, diligently and carefully, we are to work on building ourselves up in our
faith. We cannot afford to take time off of work, building up our faith. When
we do this, we are going backwards in our pursuit of Christ. If we stop
working, our paychecks quit coming. As we are building ourselves up in Christ
we are paid in peace, filled with love and we are exercising our patience and
self-control. We are blessed beyond measure as we continue to spend time with
him. Praying for others, pouring our heart out to Him and being still before
Him. There is no better thrill on this earth than having complete trust in God
and being at peace with your circumstances. Knowing that He is always on your
side and is fighting for you will grant you so much joy that others will want
to know what is different about you. Build yourself up in this most holy faith
by praying in the Holy Spirit, seeking His face, allowing Him to comfort you
and lift the burdens of this world off of you. There will never be a time when
you regret talking to God. This is what we were made for, to be in a
relationship with Him! We don't have children then expect them to grow up and
raise themselves on their own. We have children and desire to raise them up in
the way they should go, with love and acceptance of who God created them to be,
not who we desire them to be. We want a relationship with our children and so
does our Heavenly Father. Every day He is waiting for you to share your heart
with Him. Don't allow busyness to stop you from being an active child of God.
Keep Jesus at the center of your day and He will help you get through the
chaos.

1:20-21 (MSG) But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most
holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s
love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our
Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!
